Christine’s dad built a darkroom in the basement when she was in grade school, then went on to study at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh, and eventually founded Armstrong Studio Associates in 1988.
The studio began as a traditional product photography studio serving advertising and marketing clients, then became one of the first full‑service digital studios in Baltimore, partnering with pre‑press experts to manage projects from shoot through print.
In 2007, she moved the studio to a loft space on a farm in northern Baltimore County, aligning her photography work with a more eco‑conscious, small‑footprint way of living.
Today the studio lives in a renovated barn in White Hall, Maryland—an intentionally quiet, rural environment where she can focus on meticulous product work for jewelry, textiles, hardware, home goods, and more. Clients can visit the “green” studio or art‑direct remotely via screen sharing, reviewing images before they receive carefully finished digital files.
Her philosophy remains straightforward; do excellent work, price it fairly, and put the client’s goals first. Ask questions before shooting. Communicate clearly. And strive to leave both the client’s brand and the surrounding environment a little better with each project.
